W H O A R E V I D O L L?

ヴィドール [Vidoll/Vidooru] is a Visual indies band that was developed back in February 2002. They were signed to Matina, a redord label. However, Matina was shut down. As a result, they had to sign to another record label, and fast. Therefore, Vidoll were then signed to La Sadies's bassist Kisaki's new label, Under-code.

It's true that Vidoll's style matches their music. However, a part of it isn't true. In fact, they're pretty interesting when you listen to all of their songs. People might think their music is grungy, screamy, grotesque, and psychotic. But, their music has a bit of a melodic yet and groovy tune, grotesque, obscure, and from those to just plain hardcore. Of course their image has a very dark appearance, but it appears that some of their songs can also have a very cute style, and most of them have a nice and very fun melody to it without all the screaming or hard rock getting involved at all. Though they are still considered indies, we know that someday they will soon be as famous as McDonald's.

Mr. Velvet Voice, Jui is the vocalist of the band. His vocal range is very versatile, as he is able to hit both crystal-clear high pitched notes as well as deep hushed ones. He is also in charge of the lyrics. By his writing style, he seems to be fond of word games. He has also written a lot of songs for the band. Before joining the Vidoll ranks, Jui was in the indies bands De-vine, Rasa, Raisonne, and Luinspear. He was also part of Kisaki Project, lending his smooth voice to their candy-coated ballads.

Joined?: July 13, 2005

Shun joined the band to replace Hide as lead guitarist. Shun was formerly known as Kaede from the bands Calorze and Gossip.




Name: Giru [ギル]

Joined?: July 13, 2005

Giru joined the band to replace Yukine as rhythm guitarist. Giru was known as Uruha in his previous band, Lilith.




Name: Rame [ラメ sometimes written 螺冥]
Position: bass

Hometown: Suita, Osaka
Height: 163 cm
Weight: 49 kg

As group leader, Rame is the bassist of the band. He writes most of the music. Knowing this, it's no surprise that most of Vidoll's songs have a very distinct bassline, very often relegating the guitar solos to second place. Rame is a bit goofy on stage, because he has a very poor sense of rhythm. He puts the groove in the band's music. Rame was previously in the bands Radifia and Eze:qul.



Name: Tero [テロ]
Position: drums

Hometown: Sapporo, Hokkaido
Height: 164 cm

Shoe-size: 24,5-25 cm
Tobacco Brand: Doesn't smoke

Hidden behind his heavy gear, Tero nevertheless seems to be the "prankster" of the lot. Always very lively and timely on the drums. Tero also plays the piano. He has played a few parts for some of the band's releases, most notably on the song "Kimi wo Nosette", a very good ballad mostly with jui singing and Tero playing on the piano. Tero had been on a small non-visual band from Hokkaido before going to Tokyo and meeting up with Rame to form Vidoll.
